The Philadelphia 76ers will have their best-ever season in 2019-20, with the team that won a championship last season, the Philadelphia 76, looking like a playoff team.
This is a lot of good news for the 76ers, who will be playing the Miami Heat on Sunday in their first game of the 2019-2020 season.
The Sixers will have a chance to make the playoffs for the first time since the franchise became a member of the NBA in 1980-81.
They will have to win out and reach the postseason for the third time in the last five years.
The 76ers have a record of 22-14-8 since joining the NBA and they are still the league’s only team with three straight 50-win seasons, joining the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.
In a very positive sign, coach Brett Brown said his team was hoping to make a run in the postseason this season.
The 76s are currently 11-16 in the season series, but are looking at their first playoff berth since 2008-09.
Last season the Sixers were swept by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs.
They finished 13-32 and missed the playoffs in 2019.
